Hey, i just repotted my nursery stock japanese black pine. My concern is that i cut off too many roots and bare rooted it maybe a bit too much.
What can i do in such case to help it recover? I planted it in 1,5:1:1 Akadama, pumice, lavarock and a bit of pine bark.
Pls help me and my tree

Never bare root a conifer ever. You should not take a lot of roots either. The only thing you can do is hope, water properly and keep your finger crossed.

There is not much you can do but protect it from drying winds, give it sun and be careful in watering.
Too wet is more of an issue than dry for pines. When you do water, you water the whole pot so it runs through the pot and all spaces are soaked. Then it drains (You have a great substrate from what I read) and you let it dry out until the substrate is virtually dry. Hard to explain . Do not fertilize for the first weeks, as this will encourage roots to "go and look" for nutrients, aiding recovery.
