Looking at the photo, it looks like Azalea has passed the stage of being left alone outside! Once Azaleas are damaged to this degree, it is usually irreversible. So, as the LAST RESORT one needs to take drastic action and I doubt taking it out of the pot (without disturbing any roots) and wrapping the roots in Sphagnum moss and leaving it outside, will do it any more harm.
