Hello,
2 months ago I've purchased my first bonsai tree online from local nursery. Couple days after receiving it I've noticed that tips of couple leaves started to become brown and my first thought was it might have experienced a mild frost while shipping (I'm living in Eastern Europe, so during this time outside temperature was approximately -10 degrees, but the packaging in which bonsai arrived contained a heating element). Later on as even more leaves started to brown i tried to reduce my watering, but that haven't fixed this problem. After a month I fertilised the tree with a liquid bonsai fertiliser, but browning did not stop.
I'm growing bonsai tree inside facing a eastern window so it receives a bit of direct sunlight in the morning. Air temperature on the windowsill where the tree is being kept is around 17-20 C, air humidity is around 50-60%
At this point I have no idea what could save this tree. Any help would be highly appreciated.

It is winter and you keep it indoors. On top off that it has recently been in transport. All off these things is bad for the tree.
As soon as temperatures is safe above 5c, move it outdoors slowly aclimating it to full sun. That will proboably make the tree bounce back. Same problem will come back next winter.
The best species to grow are the locally hardy ones that can be left outdoors all year. They don't suffer in winter.
For chinese privet I have found 5c overwintering room beeing much better than indoors in winter. I still have issue with this tree, but a lot less since I decided to try the overwintering room 3 years ago.
