Shriveled roots of ficus ginseng

Hello, I bought a ficus ginseng year ago and it was doing very vell.. till now.. It started to drop its leaves and its roots above the ground are shriveling. I attached the photos here. Can you please help me, what to do with it? Can I save it so it won't die? Thank you.

You know that ginseng is not considered a bonsai?
The tree looks dry to me. If the tree is kept where the photo is taken, it may suffer from lack of light.
