Azalea is shedding leaves

1.5 months ago I bought an Azalea. For the last three weeks I've been watching it lose its leaves. They darken around the edges, dry out and fall off. During this time, dropped almost half of its former "hairs". Watering with mild slightly acidic water. Humidity is kept at 60-70%. While I keep it at room temperature. Since we are nearing winter, I have not transplanted or fertilized yet. It is in its original soil. Please help me determine what is causing the leaves to fall off. Is it a delayed acclimatization after purchase, or preparing it for the winter period, or am I making mistakes in keeping it?

You are making mistakes in keeping it. Azalea is a temperate tree and cannot be kept indoors in winter.
Read up on the species needs before purshase, not after failures that would be so easy to avoid.
