Hello!
Possibly stupid question but I will ask anyway. I live in zone 7B and have a Japanese maple bonsai. It's not started dropping its leaves nor have they been changing color. As far as I know the tree is quite healthy save for some minor leaf scorch on a couple of the leaves. Am I doing something wrong or does this tree just take its own time when changing color and dropping leaves? Do I need to defoliate it before the onset of winter? Thank you for any ideas!!

No you are not doing anything wrong, it will happen when it gets a bit colder, but don't remove leaves yet as they are still absorbing nutrients. Let them turn naturally.
