I think my juniper bonsai is not healthy... Any advice? was created by LResFac

Hi!

I just bought this juniper tree a couple of weeks ago as my first bonsai project. However, I've been noticing some changes in the colour of the top leaves, no idea if it is dying or just the season (temperature started dropping in the last few days, nothing below the 10°C). I have to move the tree during the day to follow the sun, it receives like 5 hours of morning sun. Haven't repoted it yet.

Any advice on the health of my tree is appreciated. Also, would it be ok if I repot it?

Here are some photos.

I think your tree looks healthy. Repotting is done in late winter or early spring.

Thanks for the reply! I'll wait for repotting then.

That's very helpful, thanks. I'd like to ask, what do you recommend as after potting cares? I've read places where it says plenty of water and sunshine whilst some other places say shadow (even indoors) and water if the soil looks dry.

I make most of my repotting in January to March. Right at the first oportunity after the soil thawn. Up here there are not much sun that part of the year and quite a lot of rain. No need for shade or watering. But every climate is different. Too much sun and too dry is never good on a newly repotted tree.
