Cork Oak with Blackend Bark and Yellow Leaves after a Heat Wave Help Needed was created by Clayton12321

Hi All,
I just got back from vacation to find my ~7 year old Cork Oak bonsai with yellow dry leaves and partially black bark… Please help!
The tree is kept outside in the Los Angeles area with afternoon/evening sun (it is hot in the high 90s F on average here). It has been doing alright here in the heat for the past 4 months about (after I purchased it from a local nursery), and I had my girlfriend water it when the soil started to dry (about every 2-3 days).
Apparently there has been a heat wave over the past few days and she noticed it having yellow leaves last night. I brought it inside and watered it as it felt pretty dry. I am going to keep it inside for now until the heat wave subsides.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how I could revive this tree and why it may be displaying these symptoms. Thank you greatly for your help.

It dried out at some point. I would not keep it indoors. Outdoors in full shade and focusing on watering is better.
