Hey everyone!
I'm growing a fukien tea indoors, and noticed some tiny, pepper-like black specks developing on some of the leaves. Has anyone seen this before? I also noticed the trunk has what looks like a light green/blue film of lichen on it. Happy to share any additional details that may help. Thanks!

That tree still looks healthy to me. But it will not stay that way for long. I have never seen a long term healthy indoor fukien, but a lot of pictures of dieing ones. Nobody here have any idea how to keep them healthy.
Fukiens seems to be like cut tullips. Bought to add some beauty to ones home for a while and thrown away when the unavoidable death arrives. Nothing to do with bonsai really.
Next time get a tree hardy to your area and grow it outdoors. That is what bonsai is about.

Thanks for your feedback Tropfrog. I ended up taking this plant to someone in the area who's been doing bonsai forever, and he agreed that the plant is totally fine. Turns out it's normal for some leaves to not be perfect looking! Who'd have thought?
I've now had this plant indoors under a grow light for most of the last 3 months (it spent 2-3 weeks outdoors at one point), and it's been growing like crazy. It's even developed flowers and to my surprise has just started to fruit as well. So for anyone out there seeing some black specks, don't worry!
