Got a Chinese elm delivered at the weekend. We noticed chewed leaves and leaves dropping, also a couple of dark spots. Had quite a lot of leaves drop now. Not sure what to do for this poor little one, please help

Hello and welcome
Only one thing to do really, which is the most essential thing for a tree: place it outdoors! Indoor it will die, no doubt about it.

Nothing wrong with it yet, but if you keep it inside there will be very soon.

I am happy you came here before most of the leafs have dropped. We see hundreds of threads about dieing indoor elms, most of them too late to rescue. That is why I made this video:
I hope it helps you to grow a heathy tree.

As everyone says, put it outside, in partial shade to start, then fuller sun. Water it when the soil starts to feel dry.
It is normal for some leaves to dry and fall off after the shock of shipping. Chewed up leaves is a different story. Watch for crawling things like caterpillars and pick them off. If there are no new chewed up leaves you are done. If they get worse find what it us.
