Hi I'm dane and I've recently bought a pinus halepensis grow from seed kit and I was just thinking have I done it right I've put the seeds into a damp piece of kitchen roll in a mini propagator in my fridge it the door shelf I've made sure it's damp I just wanted to know if it is the best way as I know from experience following instruction from booklets can be wrong.

What did the instructions say about when to sow?
You are starting a temperate tree in late summer. That is way wrong and will likelly end up with a dead seedling.
Put your seeds in a pot and put them outdoors. Winter will take care of stratification and it will sprout at exact right time without you needing to think too much. Nature know how to take care of things and that tree has evolved thousends of years to what nature have to offer.

I always do my conifer seedlings in October, in yellow sand, in a quarry, in a pot or planter, I place them all due north at the foot of a wall and winter does the rest.

It says that I can sow them all year round but just put into kitchen roll in the fridge but I just wanted to know if I could just straight plant them in one of my pots outside?
And I was wondering how long it would take to show signs of growth?
Thank-you again.

If they are allready stratified you will se growth within 2-4 weeks and will have a challenge to overwintering them.
If they are not allready stratified they will sprout in the perfect time in spring. Depending on your location and climate, somewhere mid March to mid May.
