Leaves turning yellow. Heat or overwatering? was created by Jakob

Hello,
recently I've noticed the leaves of my tree have been turning a yellowish tint, some of which have also progressed to browning and falling off. I've been taking care of this tree for about 2 years, currently just trying to let it grow and thicken. But about a week ago I noticed the leaves turning yellowish and brown which I assumed was because it was a hot week. I tried moving it from direct sun on my western balcony into the shade but I'm not sure if that stopped the yellowing. I have recently also gone on a 4 day vacation for which I moved my trees indoor and watered them thoroughly before leaving and upon returning found white mold growing around the base of this tree. This and reading about overwatering symptoms made me think that overwatering may be to blame for the issue. But that seems odd to me as I only water my trees once in the morning and the days have been pretty hot. Could it be possible with bad drainage to have overwatering issues by only watering 1/day?
What precautions should I take to give my tree the best chance of recovery?
Thank you very much for your wisdom.

Very unlikely to be overwatering if the soils is good. Having them inside is the most probable cause. One of two leaves going yellow is nothing to be worried about, leaves are alive and do die off. As you don't say what country you are in and you just said heat, it is not possible to be more precise, but just make sure they do not dry out and as you had them inside, put them in some shade for a week or two they will be fine.

The picture of the one leave on top, as well as the overview is showing sunburn damage. The one leave lower down COULD be aging of the leave where nutrients are retracted. But considering the orientation is the same as the burnt leaf on top, and the pattern is really on the high points on the leaf I would say sun damage too.
Possibly in relation to underwatering. But if you are watering enough and you have seen no wilting, it is just the direct sun-exposure.
