Can you help. My Redwood does not look very happy. It's leaves are turning colour. It is kept outside and watered when needed. It has new growth.

Hi
It is kept in semi shade. The sun could be a possibility with the hot weather over the last week, but the leaves have been turning like this for the last month. It was a rescue bonsai and was in a sorry state. I did repot, and I am wondering if that could have caused it, as not the right time of year to do it.

You should not have re potted, they do need a lot of water, It does not look too bad, I would not be worried unless it gets worse, keep it well watered, at least every day if not twice, no fertiliser until it is looking better.

Hi
I didn't disturb or cut the roots just put it in a slightly bigger pot just bedded it in with some extra fresh soil I do water it as and when needed, so we'll watered, usually morning and late afternoon. No fertiliser used. I will see how it goes, it has some new growth so fingers crossed. Thanks

The photo is after. The moss isn't growing on the trunk it is on the soil. Didn't disturb the roots just transferred into slightly bigger pot and added fresh soil to bed in. Thanks

Is it possible that after up potting, the water you add runs on top of the old heavy soil into the new fresh soil? Sometimes doing that kind of up potting pne just water the new soil where no roots are instead of the old soil where the roots are.
Try to make a few holes in the old soil in between roots with a shopstick. Directing the water where you want it.
