Many many thanks. I was looking for options available. Your advice had been valuable.
For now I've repotted it in a deep pot. And I'll probably leave the decision for next year.

Thanks. I wasn't planning to braid the trunk, I just couldn't commit to cut the branch. I tied it, so I can see the shape better, if that makes sense.

You did right not cutting it. I always advice people to go slow and practicing it myself.
If you are aiming for semicascade.....Look at the photo from the day of purshase. It really looks like the branch you tied up on the main branch is the best to use for semicascade. Better movemend, direction and taper. Do take your time considering that.
It sounds and looks like you are in the tropics? I have seen amazing development speed in the tropics. Something we might envy up here in the cold north.
But indeed go slow and careful whatever your desition is. And learn how the tree react in your climate and care.
