Hello!
New to this forum and also bonsai. I have grown the attached tree from seed... it's 16 months old, I'm just wondering what (if anything) I need to do right now - should I think about wiring for shape? Does it need any pruning? Shall I let it grow a bit more? Any advice gratefully received!
Many thanks,
Kevin

Hey and welcome. I like the natural mowement this tree has developed. If you want to wire for more mowement you can do it now, but you can also think about it for a few years, no hurry.
I would put it in a much bigger pot for faster development, but thats just me.
16 months old in May is quite odd, are you in southern hemisphere?
I hope the tree was just brought indoors for photos? Pines dies if grown indoors, they dont get their much needed winter dormancy.

I dont know the species yet. But my gut feeling is that it should be outdoors at all times in UK.

Outdoors at all times without exceptions.
Well, maybe a hurricane and you dont have anywere to protect it other than indoors would be an exception
16 months allready without proper winter dormancy and there are 6 more months before next chanse. That sums up to 22 months. I am very curious to know how the tree can take that. Please report back in authum.
