Hi all,I’m hoping you could give me some advice or share some light on this subject to put my mind at ease. I’ve recently brought the largest and oldest bonsai I own (I’m very new to this) however my new one was covered in dead twigs and branches. It also has white spots all over it.. I was just wondering if I’ve brought a dying bonsai! Also is there any advice to make it happier? I trimmed all the dead twigs off this morning however there are still some dead branches I need to remove. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,Kieran

This is a nice tree. The white spots are the reason this plant is often referred to as tiger bark fig .
It is in need of light.

Nice tree, I second LB on that, is asking for sunlight. You can notice the long and slender twigs trying to reach it.

Thanks Albas, I’ve only had it for around two days, I’ve now moved it in a much lighter location so I’m hoping it will be much happier. It didn’t help the garden centre told me to keep it away from light! Thanks for the help!
