Needs some urgent help Not sure if this is normal but my Shohin Trident Maple which I purchased back in December has come into leaf like a month back however the leaves were looking a bit tangled and bunched together, after a few weeks I left it outside a few weeks back when the night temp went to -1 for one night which may have cause a bit of Frost damaged (not sure if this is the cause), since than the leaves have been wilting and turning crispy iv been watering when needed and checked the roots which may need repotting.
Any ideas of what could be causing this and how to correct it? Someone told me that Seaweed emulsion could help. But trying to figure out if it's too late or what to do?
1st 6 images are from a couple weeks back when it had most it's leaves. The rest were taken today.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sea weed emulsion will not work. Never fertilize an unhealthy tree.

What do you recommend doing from looking at the images?

I would put it in a slightly more shaded position and focus on watering.

Not a lot you can do. Keep it out of full sun, and just an hour early morning of late afternoon sun. Keep humid, not wet. Wait. One option is to put it in a large transparant bag, to increase humidity. The plant will need to rebuild roots and bud out again. That is easier if there is no water stress. Then air the bag each day for an hour or so to reduce fungals. But as said befor, protect from sun and wind and keep moist, thats the basic.

Thank you, I was also recommended by a bonsai nursery to slip ot it into a pond basket as the roots look pot bound

Pot bound?? That is really strange thing to say?? The photo shows clearly that it is not.
Pot bound normally means the tree has grown so many roots that it is stuck (bound) in the pot and not possible remove without cutting the roots. You just took it out of the pot without damaging the roots. Hence not pot bound.

Yeh I may have got my words muddled but they said it will need a repot next year and if I can very gently tease the roots when slip potting it into a slightly larger pot.

I would not be cocerned adding one more season before repotting a tree like this. But my repotting is allways decided when time is awailable. Every time I have a few hours to spend I look on the trees and decides which one needs it most. So in my collection it would be 50/50 chanse it would be repotted next spring or the spring after.

too late to re pot, frost damage will correct by producing new buds. Put it back in the pot and just water it when needed, it will recover
