Hi,
Me and and my partner have grown a Redbud from seed and tried to do everything by the book!
It's now one year old - after the leaves fell off in the winter we're not really sure if the tree is ok / if we're doing anything wrong.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Photo attached.

Apologies, it doesn't seem to be working on my phone for some reason but I have tried again. Failing that I've set the tree in question as my profile picture.
Many thanks!

Hi,
Yes we kept it inside all winter in the same location it's in now.

Hi there. I am learning too so the other members will be your helpful source. However, I wanted to tell you what I noticed on my little seedlings. My maples just started producing leaves in the last two weeks. Of course this is my small ones (maybe a year). My older Maples and Oaks started producing leaves a little quicker. The stem of your tree looks like it still has life in it. It looks like a small bud on the top. Maybe take it outdoors and let it get some sun. I would like to hear what the group here says for my own knowledge. I have attached a pic of one of mine that just started producing leaves. It had me worried too last month. I started it from a seed as well.

Temperate trees needs cold dormancy for long term health and survival. I am not experienced with the species so cannot say how much it is affected by skipping one winter dormancy.
But yes, short tree is right. It needs to move outdoors as soon as risk of frost is over in your area. Once outdoors never bring it indoors again.
