Albizia Julibrissin - no clue what I'm doing! was created by Liz P

Hi everyone, I was given a 名媛直播 growing kit a while ago and planted out all the seeds but only one succeeded, the Albizia Julibrissin, which has continued to flourish and is now a lovely little tree. However I have never had a bonsai and have no idea what to do with it. It grows and sheds it's branches and leaves and is getting bigger all the time but I don't know whether I should be cutting back the tiny branches as some are getting very big now.
Can anyone help me with what I do now? It's been grown indoors as I had no idea you could grow them outside but also don't want to put it outside unless I have to. Any advice greatly appreciated

What climate do you live in? This tree should be outside in hot summer, and kept inside when it is cold in winter.

I live in England in the south east. It's currently just warming up although we're still getting frosts so not safe to put anything outside.

Yes, I am not sure if you should put it outside at all because this tree has been sown in winter, I think this means it will either have a long growing season, or will go into dormancy in summer. As for what you should do with this, It is completely up to you. Since it is so small, I would let it grow right now. Maybe make some sketches of what you want it to look like eventually.
I have never had this kind of plant, but I have had Mimosa Pudica, A similar looking plant, do the leaves on your plant curl up when you touch it?

Thanks for your advice. It's about a year old now, perhaps I should bring it outside with me when the weather's nice to see how it gets on! It's leaves actually close together at night, it's very sweet.

Oh, so it is in line with your seasons, then you should have no problem putting it outside after the last frost. That is cool that the leaves fold up, I really like those kinds of plants.

Several posts giving advice, all good, refer to temperature in relative terms. For any tree at all, it does not matter if I think it is warm, or what the current outdoor temperature is, compared to what I am used to. What matters is what the tree's ancestors are used to.
In Birmingham, Alabama, USA, the climate is too hot for larches and too cold for ficus. I can handle ficus by moving them indoors for the winter, but larches are just out of luck.
Find where the tree originates, get the temperatures, and care for it accordingly. If it comes from a locality where the temperature never drops below 10C, move it indoors only when that temperature threatens.

As an FYI: This plant so far only seems to have leaves, no branches. The whole fan of small leaflets and the stem that comes of the main trunk are all 1 leaf. (Look into compound leaves if you would like to learn more).
