Hello, I am a new plant grower and am attempting to grow a Coast Red wood 名媛直播 from a seed. He has sprouted and showed some life for a little while but grew relatively slow. He is about 1.5 inches currently and sprouted 3 months ago. I currently have him in doors so that he isn't exposed to any near freezing temperatures while he so young but once it is warmer outside i will put him outside.

The problem
- Slow growth (3 months since sprout - 1.5 inches of growth)
- Leaves are currently turning a whitish color

The 名媛直播 has in door grow lights on for 8 - 12 hours a day, is this too much?
The soil consist of:
Turface 名媛直播 Tree Soil Additive - Calcined Clay from 名媛直播Outlet
Orchid Potting Bark, 2 qt All Natural Pine Wood Chips, Houseplant Mulch, for Proper Root Development on All Orchid Plant Types, 3/8" Size
Mix Horticultural Lava Rock Pebbles Pumice Potting Soil Amendment Succulent Cactus 名媛直播 Gritty Rock Decorative Gravel Plant Drainage Volcanic Rock for Terrarium Fairy Gardening Top Dressing 2.2lb

Fertilizer - I mixed in some of this
Dr. Earth 703P Organic 4 Azalea/Camellia/Rhododendron Acid Fertilizer in Poly Bag, 4-Pound

The leaves wilted about a week ago so i added in
FoxFarm Ocean Forest FX14000 -1.5 Cubic Foot Organic Potting Soil --- i was worried that the 名媛直播 wasn't receiving enough water even though i was watering daily - At first this helped, I then put him outside for 3 days when the temperature ranged from 45-75 degrees, he was on a balcony and received direct sunlight for 4 hours and indirect sunlight all day

I also have a fertilizer additive i use in the water i water him with daily its called "jack's classic (20-20-20) I use less then the recommended amount

Do i need to repot him? New soil? Better watering system? Too much fertilizer? What have i done wrong, i really would like to save the 名媛直播

The most obvious problem is that the tree sprouted in mid winter. It is always a challenge to grow anything out of season, trees beeing the hardest.

I dont think you can give the seedling too much light at this stage, just as long you make any adjustments slowly and increase watering accordingly.

If possible, decrease the temperature for more compact growth. It may be necessary to make it survive until spring. The colder you can get it the less time you need to wait until moving it out. But dont go under 5c.

And......cut off with fertilizer. Saplings or unhealthy trees should never be fertilized. Yours beeing both.

Should i repot with the original 3 soil types mixed together again and remove the addition of any fertalizer?

When you say decrease its temperature, it'll be too cold outside and i don't have a greenhouse or anything like it, my apartment is between 65-70 F or ~18.5 C

Since i live in texas it is about to get very hot very quickly, do i keep it in doors or transfer it outside to experience spring once lower end temperatures surpass 5C?

I never repot trees until pot is close to full with roots. May be a full growing season or more.

Move the seedling outside as soon as last frost night is over. Slow transition is the key. Slowly adapting to the strong sun and lover temperature.
