Hi, I got about 1,5 month from now à Serissa phoetidia as a first bonsai ( which I found out was hard to care for) I’m a beginner in the bonsai world so please don’t go to hard on me So at first when I got it, I read online that you should never overwater a Serissa so I made sure not to water it too much but I think that I definitely under watered it quite a lot when I went back to the store and they told me that they watered the bonsais every day or so. So then I started watering it a lot more but I think that the original pot has really poor drainage because some of the roots seem to have rotten ( as shown in picture below) and it has lost most of it’s leaves. When I scratched the small roots they were green ( which I read online was a sign that it wasn’t completely dead) as in the pictures below too. I don’t know if I should repot it because of the poor drainage or if I should do something else. I really have low hopes for my Serissa to survive but if there is anything I can try please help me ( look at the pictures below )

First question, where are you located, season? If summer, then it should be outside, in winter indoors.
If it is indoors, then it should be kept between 10to20c to keep the tree a dormand over the winter. Keep it next to a window as light as possible.
The warmer the envoirment, the more light it needs. So beter to keep it cooler then warmer. If your living room is 20C+, then move it to a colder room.
If its cooler, you won't have to water that much. Daily would be to much. Becarefull. now the tree has less leaves, the less water it needs. Almost no transparation.
Top soil needs to dry out a bit before watering again.

Could you make a beter closeup of the leaves. Are all drying up? Do you see new growth/shoots?
