Possibly underwatered juniper - is it too late to save it? was created by igorsantos07

I bought a tiny juniper around mid-end November while on a trip, but in the rush I forgot the little boy in my friend’s house. He tried to care for it but, as you might guess, it didn’t work well. He said he sometimes forgot to water it, and sunlight isn’t very good at his apartment.
The questions are:
- is it too late to save the little juniper? I read in another post that junipers usually die way before they actually turn brown
- if it might be salvable, what should I do? I just did an “emergency watering”, submersing almost the entire pot on water for half an hour, until I could see the substrate wet enough.
- should I prune the brown / weak branches?
- should I feed it with liquid fertilizer (the one I have around) or something else? (I guess not?)
- should I leave it in the best sun I can ASAP, or should I do it gradually over the days?
- other ideas? Should I just do a little prayer, toss it away, save the pot and promise I’ll never forget a bonsai in another city?
Thanks for any tips (or none at all if there’s nothing to be done at this point…)
P.S.: The colors in the pic are more vibrant than in real life lol it’s more brownish than yellow.

This tree indeed looks dead. Junipers cannot survive indoors, so dont be too hard on your friend. The tree was doomed anyway.

yes, he is in bad shape, I don't know if it's cold dear you at the moment, but taking him out risks the end of it, an unheated room with a window would be good, above all no fertilizer on a tree weakened

Right, I forgot to mention I'm in Brazil - currently under a hot summer.
Will take care for it to take morning sun, but not the hottest hours.
Should I prune the browned tips? Or just wait more to see them falling by themselves?

Just wait for the plant to do its thing. Is the foliage soft? Or does it crumble when you tough it? (In hat case,t he plant really is gone).
Looking at this, I am in doubt whether there is life left.

for my part, I will not touch anything, keep it in the shade and keep the clod slightly damp and no fertilizer

If this is a thuja (and it is very similar), then the temperature regime from +20 to +30 degrees is favorable for this plant. Considering that you are in Brazil and there is a warm period there, I very much doubt that you will be able to maintain the temperature regime. The thuja does not react strongly to the humidity of the air in the room, however, during the summer heat it is best to spray it with water. Water the bush regularly, so it will grow lush. Choose the time interval between watering yourself, the main thing is that the soil is not dry, it is also not recommended to water the plant too often.
