Hello everyone I received a Ficus Ginseng as a holiday gift. I was told that I could expect to lose about 20% of the leaves as a result of shipping and acclimation to its new surroundings. Leaves continue to drop.
I live in Minnesota, so it's cold. I'm working to try and get it more sunlight. Slightly concerned that my bonsai may have been underwatered for a stretch. I do see some little green sprouts too.
Is it normal for the Ficus Ginseng to drop leaves? If so, is that a death knell or is there a path to redemption?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

It is normal for ficus ginseng to die, unfortunately. They are sold en masse as houseplants with some general care instructions. Unfortunately, these often have a long way before they get to your house. The soil in which they grow is often very compact and the move between the tropics and minnesota adds insult to injury.

you can cut the branch that is dead, maybe due to too much watering, it is wrong to leave the earth dry between two waterings, is it in front of a window!!!
