So I have a Jade 名媛直播 from South Africa (at least I think that is what I have) that is losing leaves.
I am using artificial light (10-12 hours a day) and keeping the tree indoors always in a heated room just like my Carmona retusa tree since 2.5 years. The Carmona retusa tree is OK, it has flowers so I consider it to be healthy.
Now the Jade 名媛直播 has been losing a lot of leaves recently. And it does not look healthy at all. I have attached a photo for you guys to see. The leaves turned first dry and brown, the just fell off. Its getting new leaves now but very slowly. At first I thought I was overwatering the tree (every 2 weeks I submerged its pot into water for 15-20 sec) but maybe that is not the case. I do not know what to do. How can I save the tree?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Because of overwatering, the roots rotted, and i guess the inside of the trunk as well. So the new shoots are not able to take up water from the soil. Only from some parts of the trunk/brances.
I would take some small cutting from the tips that are still alive. After pruning them off, put them on a dry paper for a week. So the wound can close up. Then put them up. Put them aside, and water them after 2weeks for the first time. And then take good care of the young cuttings.
Don't know you location, but in here in the netherlands it is winter, and in the winter i maybe water my succulants 2 times in 5/6months time. Watering succulants on schedule i would not do.

thanks for the input. So you mean the trunk is basically dead and cannot be saved?

Take your fingers and feel the trunk. Is it hard and steady or soft and mushy?
I think taking cuttings is a good idea anyway. But I would not give up totally yet. Just leave the tree where it is with absolutelly no attention. Come back in 3 months and check the status. There might be a possibility it recovers.

" Just leave the tree where it is with absolutelly no attention" - you mean no watering for 3 months?

I think so, with the check Topfrog suggested, we can be sure.thanks for the input. So you mean the trunk is basically dead and cannot be saved?
Can you provide your location? So we know your season and climate.
In summer outside i water weekly or every two weeks, but in winter indoors, a bit of water every few months should be ok. Succulents will show if they want water or not. If the leaves has wrinkels in them, they need water, if there looking pumped full, wait a few weeks and check again. Or the result is lots of leaf drops (good looking or yellow and mushy). If conditions where to dry, the leaf will drop crispy dry-outed.

Thats interesting Rorror. Climate plays a big role. My outdoor jades never get any water from me. We have enough rain in summer. In winter they are kept in 5c and no water for 6 months. Very easy care, I dont water ever and repot every 3-5 years.
