Hello everyone,
I have a common Myrtle i brought from a bonsai market around 2-3 years ago. Its been really easy to look after mostly.
I am from Australia and we are just coming into summer today. I noticed that when spring hit this year it didnt start popping heaps of new green leaves up. Now it barley has any green leaves and most have dried up. I thought it must not be getting enough water but i started to give it more and nothing seems to be helping it.
Can anyone help me to identify what might be wrong with it and what i should do to fix it?
Ive attached some pictures, if more are needed please let me know.
Thanks!

I think the issue is under watering. The solution is more water, but it takes time. The tree needs to grow new fine feeder roots before it can grow new leafs.

Thank you for the reply. Being summer now in Australia is it ok to water every 2nd day? Or is that too much?

Watering when the soil is moist but not yet dry, never on a scedule.
I live in Sweden, tends to keep my trees in somewhat bigger pots and use more organics in my substrate. All of above suggests that you need to water more frequent than I do. And I water most of my trees every day in summer. The mames and shohin gets 2 or 3 times a day. Your picture on the soil looks very dry.
I would not be suppriced if that tree needs to be watered once a day or more.
