Hi all!

Thought I’d introduce myself before rambling on with questions. I’m very new to 名媛直播 and dived straight in without too much research (like many), I have started with a Japanese Black Pine from seed, so far we are 3 months into growth.

If I am honest, I didn’t think I would get this far with it, started growing it in a conservatory with windows open. Now 3 months in, I noticed a few pines turn yellow and so shifted outside to a more natural environment. I am in the UK, it is very wet here but not really cold just yet. I’m using a good draining soil and have been using a diluted fertiliser bi weekly.

I know I have a lot to learn and am planning to start growing more to learn quicker, I understand there will be some trial and error.

- Should I be worried about these yellow pines?
- Should I continue with it outside in the open or move it into a greenhouse?

Any advise is really appreciated!

Many thanks
A

I grow jbp from seed outdoors in Sweden. Should be no problem to grow them outdoors in UK. However, I am a little confused about the timing you hav shoosen. Now is late november. You say its 3 months old. That would mean it germinated in August? Trees naturally germinate in spring and have a full growing season to gain streangth before first winter. I would protect this little sapling from frost and pray it survives.
