White things on juniper tips was created by Dry名媛直播

Just bought a juniper bonsai a week ago. and yesterday I noticed the white things on the needles. I have sprinkled it with city water, haven't really watered it since the soil is still moist. I live in Riverside and the weather recently was 55F to 92F. The tree was moved to a shaded area whenever the temp goes above 85F.

Riverside, is that USA? 85f thats like 30c?? I thought you were going into winter now?

30 c cannot be good for a juniper this time of the year, put it in the coldest part of your garden. Junipers need cold dormancy for long time health.

Thanks. The coldest part of the garden is 55F (12C) in the early morning and goes to 90F (32C) from 1200 to 1500.
Anyway, yo know what those white things on the juniper needles? Really need help here.

Nope, never seen it before. But health problems are allways due to environment and care. This one seems like it is drying out, hence likelly means it cant transport water to the growing tips. Watering routine, temperature, humidity can be the reasons. But badly rooted cuttings or root rot can also dry out a tree. I would put the tree in lover temperature and higher humidity.

This is not something that showed up overnight but something that occured over summer. It could be that these are dried out tips from earlier flowering. But more likely, the previous owner has left the tree too dry at some point and/or overfertilizede, causing the growing tips to die.

Do not worry about the temperature. I have seen very happy junipers in many climate zones.
