Good morning
??Greeting from sunny Thailand!??
I recently bought your beginners course and have been studying hard.??Thanks for offering such a good online course.??I don't want to bombard you with emails as I know you are busy, but as this is my first attempt some feedback would be helpful.??I have attached photos of my first try.??
Not sure what you think???
I think it looks OK but Im sure its far from perfect and maybe not even a proper bonsai.
I tried to make lateral branches and wanted to bend the main trunk more but my current wire is not strong enough and I am scared to break the trunk. I also found 2 big roots and put them over black rock to contrast against the lighter sand.??I think the branches may be too long or have too more foliage but not sure.??
Also I thought about cutting off the smaller second truck and making all the lateral branches all face the same as the main truck, but not sure about this either,??
There is so much to learn but it's great fun and I have lots of time. And the whole project cost me about $6 as it's so cheap here in Thailand.??I am still waiting for correct tool set and rock combination you suggested (lava etc)??Anyways, thanks again and stay safe.??
Kindest regards
Martin
PS If it looks terrible at least you can have a good laugh. We all need some humour at this time

I think it looks like most beginners atempts including my own first. Not better, not worse.
Personally I dont like to do root work and prunning at the same time. But I am in a cold temperate country. Maybe it works good in the tropics?
One thing that I learnt on my own few first attempts with conifers is that selecting the smallest branches with foliage closer to the trunk and cut the biggest ones with foliage far from the trunk will get them into proportion faster.
名媛直播 is not easy and it takes time to refine your skills and the trees. Now just give your tree the best possible care, you dont want to lose your first tree. If you succeed in that and continue in the hobby you might end up as me in the future. My first tree is still alive and I must confess I laught at every time I see it. But still it is a very valuable tree too me. Obviously not to anyone else

Many thanks for your reply. Very helpful.
Don't think this tree had foliage near the trunk so will work on my tree selection.
Juts trying out the root and jin to practice.
So much to learn so appreciate your feedback.
Stay safe and have a great day!
