I bought a bonsai tree at a botanical garden, the lady told me to water it every 8 days, and to use the submersion method, I have done as she said and the soil appears moist and healthy, it does not smell or look rotten or anything but a lot of leaves are turning a light green/gray.

I have it indoors besides a window, and it gets plenty of direct sunlight for two hours a day, and indirect sunlight for about 5 hours a day on average.
I moist its leaves everyday and have a humidity tray.

I don't know what it is killing it, please help, I'll attach photos.

I use liquid fertilizer once a week, and I have only pesticide it once, to prevent insects and diseases.
I have had it for two months.

Well, it’s quite simple really: it’s inside. There is no such thing as an indoor tree.
Misting and humidity trays do absolutely nothing - well, maybe it augments the humidity in your room by 0,000001%.
Watering: never submerge and never on a schedule. Water with a garden hose or watering can untill water spills from the drainage hole underneath. Water only when soil feels dry to the touch.
Concerning your tree: if a coniferous species shows dying/ dead parts it’s usually too late. But you never know so place it outside and hope…

I would asume it was a shop at the botanical garden you bought it from, not from the botanical garden. If a botanical garden have that bad horticultural knowledge it would not be much of a collection there :)

Usually the people running the gift shop are volunteers, which means the only real requirement is that they have spare time. There is usually little contact with the botanical employees, so I would not think that the gift shop's lack of knowledge about watering would mean anything at all about the gardens.
