So I bought a ginesing ficus from lowes, and it did just fine for a month or so, then all of a sudden it started shedding leaves almost all of them, but after that a bunch of new ones started to grow in, and then.all of a sudden boom. Over night the leaves turned black, and also the tips of the branches turned black. I searched for hours, and days and have come up with nothing. Please any he'll this is my first bonsai I've always admired them and I don't wanna lose my little buddy. Please anyone please help...

Have you asked your friend Lowes how he cared for it before?

Without knowing anything about what you have done, nor seeing any pictuers.. My crustal ball does not tell me what is wrong.

Hi, I'm a super-newbie at bonsai but have been growing plants a long time. (a) don't buy plants from big bx stores as they never have staff who know how to care for them properly (b) I'm betting you over-watered, which will kill any plant. My suggestion is to remove it from its pot and see whether you have any viable roots left. Trim off the dead/rotten ones and repot in DRY soil, watering carefully from now on. Don't overfeed! And pls make sure the pot its in (or going into) has a drainage hole - lots of times they sell you pretty plants in pretty pots but the pots don't have drainage holes. Best of luck to you, i hope you manage to save it.
