I need help with my bonsai tree. I am in TN. The leaves are turning brown. I water it at least every other day and use fertilizer. I thought maybe it was Leaf scorch because it was so hot, so I brought it inside. It didn't seem to get better. Every morning I notice the soil has moved around and taken off the sides of the pot but haven't seen any bugs with my own eyes. I really want to keep it alive, I'm so terrible with trees/plants.

Hello and welcome
First of all, this is an international forum, local abbreviations do not mean anything for anyone not living wherever it might be where you live.
A picture helps so we know what we are talking about.
In general: place it back outside, inside it will certainly die (there is no such thing as an indoor tree). Stop using fertilizer if you plant is struggling, fertilizer is not food for a plant, sunlight is. Watering every other day might not be enough if you say it’s it’s hot ( how hot is hot?)

What is your water like? And how do you water the tree? You should water it untill it runs out of the pot, and water all substrate, not just in one spot.
The leaves look like it has received too little water, or too much fertilizer.
This tree needs to be outside. Depending on where you live and how hot/dry it gets, protection from wind and midday sun might be usefull.

Sorry, mid United States. It had gotten in the 100s a couple weeks ago. I put it back out on our covered porch yesterday. I water every bit of the soil until there's standing water in the humidity tray. I tried to upload 3 pictures several times, I guess it doesn't want to work. I just put the fertilizer on it once a month like the instructions said. I use tap water.

Get rid of the humidity tray. It server no purpouse and can have impact on the watering. When you water correct there should be a steady stream off the drainage holes a lot more water than the humidity tray can hold.
