New zelkova bonsai dying - too far gone? was created by ruiteixeira93

Hi,
I got this bonsai tree (pictures attached) about a month ago as a gift and I’ve been keeping it outside as I read they’re outdoor trees.
This past week we had a very strong heat wave and I think between too much heat and me over watering it to try to compensate I may have killed it - there’s very few green leaves left and even those seem to be wilting.
Based on the pictures is there any chance I can recover it given I have limited knowledge and skill? Should I bring it indoors?
Thanks in advance,
Rui

Oh the labelling on it was misleading then!
Thank you - is there anything I can do to help? Should I remove the dried leaves or would that just add to the stress?

I have an elm grown from seedling here and not long ago all of the leaves died just like in your picture. This was about six weeks ago, and now it is in full leaf and looks just like the other elms. I have no idea what caused the leave drop or caused them to come back.
Put it where it gets some sun but not strong afternoon sun, water it, and leave it alone.
