I was brought this bonsai 7 moths ago and the leaves have started to turn yellow. No matter if I water it more or less it doesn’t seem to change. I have also tried giving it more light and moving to a shaded area and again no change.
I am a novice so any advise will be much appreciated.
Thank you

It's a chinese elm and the reason its in poor health is because its inside. There is no such thing as an indoor tree.
Bring it outside, first in the shade and let it gradually get used to the sun. Wate rit with a garden hose or watering can untill water spills from the drainage hole underneath. Water again when soil feels dry. Do not fertillise/prune/repot untill it regains is full strength.
