Hello everyone! I'm Arnaud and i'm very new to this.

Last week, I met an old man with a massive bonsai collection but he's getting too old to take care of them so he gave me one. Has he dosen't speak english, I don't know what kind of tree it is. Can you people help me with this?

Other thing, I planned to put the tree in my bedroom but there is no direct light, is that going to be a problem?

Thank you people :)

If you want a dead tree, keep it in your bedroom. If you want it to live, place it outside where it belongs

That might be the reason for the bad condition of that tree. Its problematic, trees are evolved thrue thousends of years to be outside. Sun, rain humidity, seasonal fluctrations. Our homes are modern and designed to optimize living conditions for us. Trees hate that. Living in Canada you might have to accept that not all species is for you. Or you check Nigel Saunders "the bonsai zone" on Youtube. He lives in Canada and have found a way around it. Not one tree in living room conditions.

Or....Just simply accept your own environment and grow trees that are adapted to it.

In summer put it outside. If you do have cold winter then in an unheated garage, not house. But right now it must be outside.

It's hard to tell. The leaves look like that of a peach tree, but I could be wrong.
