I just received two nursery trees, and due to shipping, some soil had to be removed on the top. What soil should I use to fill up the rest of the container? The nursery that sent these trees said that sifted commercial potting soil would work, so would that be fine?

Thank you. Now I'm wondering, does it even matter to use sifted soil since I'm only covering a few inches on the top?

Despite what prople may think. Trees do grow in organic soil all over the world. There are not one wild tree that grow in soil sifted by man.
