Hi everyone I am new here,
So I got a bonsai 2 months ago, had it indoors in the office it was getting indirect but plenty of sunlight all was going well and handy until this morning when I noticed plenty of the leaves were brown and there was a white thing around them and in the base, is this fungus and if so any tips on getting the little baby back to health?

There is way too much missing information here.
What species is it? Pictures?
Probably it is dead, mostly from being indoors. If it is tropical, maybe not.

I removed it, it seems to be a fungus or something, there's also some bit on the branches

The white in the branches, if you poke or squees it, does there come redisch stuff out?
Because they could be mealybug bugs.

"Indoor" is a misleading term. It means, "You can grow this indoors, bit you have to duplicate pretty closely the outdoor environment where it evolved".
That means somehow provide sunlight, don't let the air conditioning dry it out, pour water on it like rainfall, keep the bugs off, and more, just as a start.
The white stuff may be hard water scale from watering it just enough to keep the soil moist. It should wash through the soil, washing hard water deposits through. This will make a mess in an office environment.
The website here has a lot of information on keeping trees alive, and it would be worthwhile for you to research some.

Another dieing carmona. There are 13 on a dozen threads like that here. That tree is pretty much a mystery that very few manages to keep alive for a longer period. Dont be too hard on yourself, just throw it away an start looking for a better starter material. Trying to save it is just waste of time.

Tropfrog is right. 99% of the “help my tree is dying “questions here are from people with “indoor” trees. The biggest part of those trees are Carmonas. As long as I’m on this forum I have never seen one of those come back here to show how good their tree is doing.
So, inside it will die, you can count on it.
