My mom recently bought a small Japanese maple sapling. We put it into a pot, added some soil, and now the leaves are turning brown for some reason. What could this be from? The tree is on our balcony, and has shade through most of the day, but it can sill be a little hot at times.

(Note: this is NOT a bonsai tree. This is the only forum I could find that could probably give me a reliable answer. Thanks!)

maybe to much water, and not enough sunlight. Take the plate away, and water when needed.
