Hello I am new to 名媛直播 and in the process of growing my collection. I have found a small English Oak in my yard, and would love to collect it to start a bonsai with it. Being new, I am not sure of the best way to collect this individual. I’m not sure if it is best to collect the roots and cut off the top of the tree and start fresh, or to collect cuttings from it, or I suppose I could try both methods and see what works best. Ive attached a couple picture though it is a little hard to tell the structure. The tree is probably about two feet tall with no branches for the first 12-18in. Thank you for your recommendations!

In fall when the leaves have dropped, cut back to maybe 15cm. Over winter lower buds will (should!) form.
In early spring, just as the budds are starting to open (or best, just before that) dig the oak up, and cut the roots back a little.
If you do any of this now you risk loosing the plant.

Ah ok thanks for the advice! Once I dig it up, should I plant it in a normal container for another season or two? And should I continue to cut it back in autumn?
