hi bonsai gurus.
having puver pruned my 3 juniper bonsais the insides are gone and theyre all leggy. As they dont back bud I wont be able to get growth back but Im thinking if I combinne them into a single tree I might just be able to shape the branches into something resembling a nice apex.
If I bind the thress together at the trunks will they eventually fuse? They are all the same species and all about 4 years old

Hardly a guru, but
- junipers can backbud given the right conditions, particularly when that young
- approach grafting is probably what you're trying to describe

thanks! Do you think I should just pot them and forget about them so they can get back to full ?The fusing I saw on YT video. This fella bound several smaller plants together and as they grew out they all grew into each other. f I could somehow do that with my three dodgy specimens I might have something worth looking at

You need healthy plats for grafting, and the right timing.
And no, what is shown in that video won’t work with junipers.

Junipers can be grafted. Hence it would be possible to scrape the bark on the trunk and fuse together two or more trees. I would asume that it is hard and risky thou.

I would agree with this. It really is hard, especially if you are not that great at doing this.

Not really, no.
You can do approach grafting, but hardly something like that.
That works only with plants with very thin bark and living tissue that also grow quickly.
Japanese maples and most ficus specimens are good examples.
Junipers fall in none of the needed categories.
To the best of my knowledge, that is.
Happy to be proven wrong by someone more experienced.

juniper trunk fusion does not work. Yes, you can graft them together, on points but it will not ever look convincing.
The trees shown here... I have seen them before, and commented before I think.
Let them grow for a year. Fertilize well, and have them nice and sunny. Once you get runners on the plant, you can expect some branches to pop along the bare sections. Important: Junipers only backbud when there is strong topgrowth (An even then, not predictable). But you should get a few buds to pop. If now, you will have so much foliage that you can still develop these further.
