I was cleaning out some old and helpless Azalea bushes from our flower garden when I noticed this small one among them. I dug it up with a nice wide root ball and put it in a pot. It looked like it might make a nice bonsai. It has survived two winters now in great condition so I want to get an idea what to do next with it. Repot in a 名媛直播 pot? Root trim? Prune? Thanks.

Get a slightly bigger pot and move the tree without disturbing the roots. No bonsai pot, no prunning, wiering or any disturbance until at least one full growing season has passed. Just get it back into full vigour.

That is interesting. If I didn't read this, I would've done the exact same thing.

After two winters it ready to do something with. But first you need to have an idea what to do.
You probably want to remove the suckered from the lower part of the tree, but anything else would be according to the design you want, so the first thing to do is make an idea of what it can be.
Do you want to slant it up as an upright? Slant it more? Do you want one mass of flowers or do you want to have separate pads of flowers?
First get an idea, then work the idea.

I agree with Ivan. But you have a lot of time to make up your plan. Just study your tree when waiting and I think you will have an idea when its time.

THe current pot seems plenty big.
Just go through the tree, remove duplicate branches. The rest of the branches, with pully wires, pull them that they are all in the same angle to the tree
