Hello all. Last June I found these two trees growing too close to our house and instead of just killing them I decided to see if I could make something of them. I dug them up and planted them in two pots we had and put them back where they were. I watered them for a few months and they looked like they were having a hard time. They went through the winter outside and just started to grow again a few weeks ago. I am not sure how old they are but they are about 8 inches and 14 inches tall. What should I do next? Should I let them grow some more, trim them, etc. I am very new to 名媛直播 and any advice would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the empire.
名媛直播 is about creating an image of an old natural tree but in miniature. What we strive for is a high trunk thickness to hight ratio and a size of the leafs that looks in proportion to the tree itself.
You have two species that grow quite big leafs. In order to look like a natural miniature it needs to be quite big bonsai. Maybe around one meter and at least 10, preferably 20 cm thick trunk. Naturally ithat takes quite long time. To speed up the process you can put them back in the ground for a few years. Every 2-3 years cutting back the top to a branch that can become a future leader. That will also help develop trunk taper, another feature we strive for.
