As you have seen, there is a lot of discussion. I once wrote a somewhat long background info article on these types of discussion. Maybe it helps you:
I am utterly confused why people this this is a ginseng fig, which it clearly is not. Treat this as you would treat any ficus: THey love sun and warmth. And if it is warm, they love water.
If possible, let it spend the summer outside. It makes a huge difference in health.

The "people" that thinks this is a ginseng ficus works at Ikea. Most of them know nothing about plants:

You would however expect people on bonsai fora to know better than to just copy labels from a website.

Well, as I said, I see potential on it, it have a decent thickness on the trunk already...
I would be planning to lower it, and make several cutting out of the top after it grows a full crown.
Something like that... Your tree, my opinion...
