My grandfather recently passed away and was a very keen gardener and had some bonsai trees. I know (probably very) little about them and have been given them as I am a novice but keen gardener and love the idea of dedication to bonsai...
Problem being, these look to me like they are well established (one of them being 50+ years old!!) So as you can imagine, I'm really feeling the pressure at the moment to at least keep these alive and healthy for the time being, so could do with a few general pointers to begin with so I don't continue my grandads work incorrectly!

I am sorry for your lost.
First identify what species they are all of them. Google species name plus bonsai care. Focus on placement and environment and get that right. If you add photos to this thread we can support.
Now, get the watering right. Check the soil every day and water if moist but not dry. That could be from once a month or less in winter to every day in summer. In extream heat even twice a day. Water abundant with soft shower all over the soil surface until a steady stream pouring out of the drainage holes.
For the moment, no prunning, repotting or styling, just focus on placement and watering.

Can you post some pictures of every tree? That would definitely help in establishing correct species and whether they belong in- or outside.

Trees more than 50 yeats old belongs outside. There is not one species of tree that can survive 50 years in living room conditions.

Hi all, thank you for your responses. I know the 50+ year old one is a pine bonsai, and I think the one in the blue pot is a type of hawthorn? Not sure about the others though

There is probably a bonsai club near you. Find one and go to some meetings and see what people near you do for watering and other care related to climate.
Our club has show and tell time when we show off a tree. Its fun to have people act jealous of your tree.

I hope this is just for the picture. ALL of these need outdoors and putting them next to a heater (if switched on) is a sure-fire way to kill them in very short order.

Yes, I had them in the house for a day and a half as was a little scared to put them outside as temperatures were hitting -2/3.. then I remembered that they had been outside over the winter at my grandmas house anyway so they're all outside and watered now. Yes all radiators in the pictures were switched off for the duration as I knew it would severely damage them if switched on and are both relatively cool rooms.
