Hello everyone. I just joined the forum. I am bonsai amateur and have little knowledge. Last autumn i took some birch seeds from one of the trees outside my home and surprisingly they grew up. Now they are seven trees from 13 cm. to 23 cm. ,which is the tallest. I had an idea to make a bonsai forest with them but i am not sure how. If they are old enough to repot them ? And if they can be repotted , how to do it properly. Also i belive there are some basics things when it comes to bonsai forest but, as you will guess - i dont know them. Also if they are old enough to be wired and shaped and ideas for the shape. Basically i need all the info you can give me. Thanks in advance and sorry for the 9832484832892 questions ... Also i atached a photo.

I hope you only took them in to take a picture. They are in leaf so no you cannot re pot them, you could put the whole rootball into a larger pot without disturbing the roots.

I guess he grew them indoor over the winter.
Not really an issue as it is spring, to bring them outdoors. Be sure to harden them off first, two weeks morning sun, then to a where it can get as much light as possible.
Then at the end of the year they will lose there leaves, and then you can repot / do root work with them.
So just size them up for now, like m5 said.

Thanks for the answers. So yea , I grew up them indoor. I will move them to a bigger pot. I live in apartament and its south side and is sunny all the time. So , whats better ? To stay at my apartament on the balcony window where it will have non stop sun , but wont be outside even if the window is non stop open in the summer ... or to move them outside in my house yard ? And if its the second choice, can i move them directly from indoor to my house ? Thanks !

They will not survive inside, not enough light or humidity, and no seasons. Put them out.

Is it a good idea to cut the tops of the tallest so they can start growing sideways at this time of the years (here is early spring) ?

The reason that Peter Chan at herons bonsai work with mature trees is just that it takes mature trees to make a realistic forest.
What you have is a pot full with seadlings. The best and fastest way to get to a mature forest is growing them in individual pots some years and put them in a forest when they are ready.
