I got two juniper bonsai last October. The older one started turning yellow/brown gradually while the younger one stays green. I place them on the same location and water them on the same schedule. Is the order juniper normal or does it need special care?
This is how it looked like earlier:

Do you se ethat in the before picture the larger juniper was already weak?
A few thoughts:
- How muc sun are they getting?
- The larger juniper mainly has a larger pot. It should be watered less frequently
- Check for bugs, specifically spider mites.

Thanks for the tips! The before picture was taken 1 month after I got them. I noticed the larger juniper was getting weak but thought it's normal in Fall/Winter... The large juniper had wire over it from the bottom to the top, sinking to the trunk. The shop didn't realize it until I purchased. I was told it will be ok after they removed it.
They got partial sun during winter and now they get direct sun about 3 to 4 hours and partial sun rest of the day time. I did not water them daily during winter but still few times a week, and now I water them daily. Maybe it's too much, though I water them only when the top of the soil is dry. I just checked the soil for both and it's moist a finger tip deep though the top looks dry. I don't see any bugs though. I am stopping watering them daily now and will always check if soil is dry before watering. Any other action I should take? Thanks again for the great pointer!

They are outside, under a porch in winter and now in the garden.
