Hi,

I'm a beginner and need all the help I can get with my new Zelkova 名媛直播 that is currently about 20cm tall or so bought (not grown from seed) and need to know what fertiliser / food I should use and how often. I have it inside at the moment?

(EDIT: If I'm looking at solid fertiliser every 4 weeks or so how many pellets do I place on it:)

LINK:

I'm looking for names or links online to something I can feed it and how often.

Thanks very much in advance.

Oliver

Your zelkova is probably not a zelkova but an ulmus. And needs to be outside as soon as frost is over this year.

Just any green plant fertilizer will do

Yes, many ulmus trees are wrongly labelled as zelkova. Your tree is with quite high chanse one of them.

The tree needs to be outside. There are really nothing more important when it comes to care. If the tree is kept indoors it will slowly decline over a few years until it is too stressed from lack of dormancy that it will die. No fertilizer can change that. So put the tree outside as soon as last frost night is over and leave it outside. When the tree is outside and first flush of growth starts you can use any fertilizer and dose according to the instructions on the product.
