Are both of my Serissa bonsai dying?!

Hi,
Both of my Serissa bonsai lost their leaves during winter. I keep them both by south facing window but cold air still seeps through. The heat/AC is right underneath the window sill so that did not help either since they are very temperature sensitive. My apartment is small and there is limited space as to where I can place my bonsai's.
Now that the temperature is getting warmer, I pruned the branches today and I'm not sure if the trees are still alive and will the leaves grow back? I feel so sad. Is there any way I can recover them??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.
I'm unable to add pictures even though they are within right size and extension.

Chances are, they're dead. As you say, they are temperature sensitive. If it is too hot or too cold or too dry, they die. When you pruned them, which you shouldn't do when a tree is in bad health, on a live tree you would see a green layer just below the cambium. If there was no green, they are dead. Also, live branches are soft and elastic, but dead branches easily snap when you bend them.
