I've had my bonsai for about two weeks now. When I bought it, I realized that it had been somewhat neglected and not been watered well. But I didn't mind and thought I could fix it. The bonsai I bought was a Carmona (Fukien Tea), which are famously difficult to take care of, but what I did was place the bonsai in a fish tank with a humidity tray to ensure humidity was above 50%, gave it a grow light that is shining light on it 12 hours a day, and a heat lamp that will occasionally turn on if the temperature drops below 70 degrees.
These were supposed to be the perfect conditions for a bonsai like mine: humid, well lit, and warm. But my bonsai seems to disagree and is dropping leaves. But the leaves it is dropping are weird. They are these gray, shriveled leaves that easily fall off. I thought it could have been overwatering from my part, but I haven't watered them that much since I got them (about twice a week). I thought that maybe the humidity in the tank might be too high and is leading the soil to never dry and therefore rootrot. But my bonsai has been there for a couple of days - not much time.
So I don't know what to do. The new shoots seem healthy and strong, which leads me to believe that maybe it's just shedding leaves for the year, but I'm not certain. I have attached a photo of a sample leaf that is falling off my tree and a photo of my set up. I do get worried that now that my Carmona is in a humid place, the soil doesn't dry very fast and could be rootrotting, but again, it's only been there for two days, so the issue I've been having predates their new environment. Please help, I love my bonsai and would hate to see them suffer with poor care conditions. Thank you!

Enthusiastic setup, I like it.
I havent tried carmona myself. But if there are new helthy leaves comming I would not be concerned about a few falling.

Thank you! But really, it's more than one leaf. It's been quite a few and some good looking leaves (some that are green and looking healthy) are falling as well. I did not take much time to acclimatize it when I first bought it. I pretty much just brought it into my house after it spent its time outside at 60 degrees, but its been continue to shed leaves day after day. I'm getting worried

It is obvious that the way you are keeping it is not doing it any good. Too hot. Not enough sunlight, and inconsistent watering are all combining to kill this plant.

What do you think I should do? I have a hydrometer and thermometer inside the tank that tells me its a 70 degrees and 50 humidity all the time. Should I have a different set up? What do you think I should change?
