Thanks again for the helpful tips, this forum indeed is filled with so many wisdom of the experienced growers with vast insights. And stressful too for the first time like me and praying this plant survives.

I would just leave it as is.
If the root is viable, it will over time grow over it, leaving an interesting scar. If it is a root about to dy, no cutpate is going to help

Hello guys! I’m worried that one of the branches needles of my pine bonsai is turning golden brownish. As it’s been potted about two weeks back from the forest ( although few brown needles were already there from the start) is it showing unhealthy symptoms.? The other two branches needles are lush green though.
It’s outside all the time, it’s been raining and gloomy these past two weeks ( it has roof shed to protect from rain)

When one dig up a tree from the forest it is quite normal that the tree gets stressed. Putting it in a rather small pot even more. At this point it does not look like an urgency. Just keep up with your care. Only future can tell if it will adapt and live or die. There is nothing you can do about it other than give it best possible care. So just relax and wait, 2 weeks is nothing in bonsai.

Thanks again! Like you said I will give him utmost care ,wait and watch. One thing I’ve learnt after taking up bonsai is the virtue of patience.
