That's good news Yona.
You may notice the water coming out a bit dirty on the first waterings, but after one or two it must flow cleaner.

I thought I’d give you an update as there tree is still struggling and leaves are continuing to yellow and dry. Feeling quite disheartened at the moment... I am attaching some photos.

Hi Topfrog - thanks so much for the reassurance. I’ve watched the video and it was indeed very helpful. It was also one of his videos about repotting that I’ve watched before tackling this task.
My only concern now is whether I’ve used the right soil when repotting. I purchased a premium indoor soil mix from an online supplier, however in the description they were specifying that the soil is suitable for small trees (full description below). I did email them with details about my tree before purchasing, asking wether they’d recommend using an outdoor mix, but they’ve said no. So now I’m worried that the soil mix might be too dense for my tree hence why I had the drainage issue in the first place?
Thanks so much for all the advice received. Massively appreciated!
“ Contains a mixture of Akadama and other granular soil media for excellent drainage and water retention to promote healthy root growth, along with compost. We use this mixture for smaller bonsai, pots up to about 10 inches wide. For trees larger than this we tend to use the compost-free Outdoor Mix.”

Correct soil mixture is depending on care and environment. It is not a "one solution fits all".
Since you have allready repotted your tree there is no going back option. As spring arriwing learn how the tree and the soil interacts in your conditions and adjust your care accordingly. I am sorry, but there are really not an easy answer.
